Caricatures
I have always enjoyed drawing caricatures, even before I knew what caricature were. In school I drew my teachers and fellow students. I even drew drawings of drill sergeants and other higher-ups in my military career, which thankfully, were all well-received. I continue to do caricatures for my illustration work whenever I get the chance. The following are mostly examples of non-commissioned work done just for fun. Enjoy!
These drawings, created with pen, brush and India ink, were done for the annual 2016 Inktober challenge. I decided to focus on guitar musicians since that is an interest of mine.
This series of caricatures was a part of #caricatureresolution2017 where artists were challenged to draw from a list of celebrities for each day of the month of January. I started using my usual watercolor and ink approach, but switched half way through the month to pencil so I could keep up with the daily challenge and not have to stay up all hours of the day trying to finish the drawings.
