Today is the first Tuesday of September, which means that it is the second annual World Art Drop Day. I discovered the annual event last year and thought it sounded like a fun idea, but then I got busy with life (you all know how that is) and I never followed through with it.
This event is open to all artists and is free of charge. No sign ups. Just participate and share on your social media. Just good simple fun! To participate what you do is draw a picture (or paint, photo, other medium) and hide it somewhere. Take a photo of either the art or the hiding spot or a combination of both. Post the image, the city your dropped it in, and hint on any social media of your choice, including the hashtag: #artdropday. Then move on, hoping someone finds it. OR hang around and meet your new friend.
I might hang around a little bit at some sites but I also have work and errands to do, so I might not get to be as social as I would like (ah, adulthood!)
So this year I made a point to properly prepare. For reason that I can't recall, I decided to create several pieces instead of one. I guess I'm a bit of a workaholic. I chose to draw characters from the X-files and Harry Potter because I am a big fan of both. I hope that these pieces will be appreciated.
